Sometimes big things can come in little packages. Kinda like when you buy a lotto ticket and actually win something. That’s the way we perceive our mechanical profile rolls: there is a lot of machine packed inside that heavy-duty base.
The two models we provide — the PBM-30 and the PBM-50 — are priced to allow almost any size shop to be able to invest their hard-earned dollars on one of these benders. The PBM-30 has a maximum capacity of 1-½” x 1-½” square tube by 1/8″ wall. The PBM-50 has a maximum capacity of 2″ x 2″ square tubing by 1/8″ wall. Folks, those are some decent stats when you consider what it cost to own one of these mechanical profile benders.
Simplicity is first and foremost in these mechanical profile rolls. Some people refer to this type of profile roll (or angle roll or profile bender or angle bender — whatever you want to call it) as a “motorized roll.” This nomenclature is totally acceptable as these profile rolls are in fact, directly driven electric motor type machines.
The two models of our mechanical profile rolls come with a pretty good list of standard features: tooling (hardened rolls set, universal rolling); mounted shafts of larger than typical diameter to attach the roll set; an operator’s panel on lengthy umbilical cord with integral emergency stop and a foot pedal. Two mechanically guided side or “lateral” rolls are also included on this considerable list of standard features.
Just a note, our mechanical profile rollers are completely operable when delivered without any of the options mentioned here. These available options are in addition to any standard operation features the machine has when new, right out of the box.
What some customers find useful are the following items, available for either the PBM-30 or the PBM-50 mechanical profile rollers:
