The metal fabrication business is not for the faint of heart, and the machinery you use on a daily basis needs to be as tough as the materials you work with. That’s where we come into play. Bud’s Machine Tools is proud to carry a vast array of high quality metal fabrication machinery, including bending and folding equipment.
Although demure in stature, Bud’s sheet metal benders do more work in one day than a lot of bigger machines that are not the least bit as busy as the sheet metal bender.
Due to numerous reasons — such as the simplicity of both set-up and operation, as well as the capability of performing the many bending of parts needed in a given day — these smaller bending machines are working day in and day out in most shops. It’s why a fabrication company, large or small, needs a dealer like Bud’s Machine Tools to not only be able to provide the machine tools necessary to get the job done, but then also have the experience to pass on the knowledge of how to run said machine tools to make each customers’ parts.
When taken as a whole, the category of light and heavy gauge benders is quite broad. The title Sheet Metal Benders incorporates quite a wide array of metal working machinery. We will discuss this notion at great length below.
One of our salesmen was making a comparison and found quite a number of large metal-working machinery websites that do something similar to what we do here at Bud's Machine Tools. He commented, "I don’t specifically know if these other companies have a real-world presence in our marketplace or not. But for the sake of discussion, we can assume they have a 'flesh & blood' type make-up, much the way we do. When looking at other suppliers that have broad machine line offerings, 'sheet metal benders' can have just about any definition you want the category to have.
"For instance, Company A had the following listed under the category: bench shears; shears; pipe bending machines; floor box & pans; combo machines that sheared rolled and bent; roll benders and conduit benders and press brakes. (Is it me, or do a lot of those machines that I just listed not actually bend sheet metal? In fact, aren’t only about half of those machines designed to actually work sheet metal in any way at all?)
"Take a look at Company B’s line-up of 'sheet metal benders': manual rotary draw benders, gutter machines, exhaust pipe benders, hydraulic rotary drawn benders, profile rolls, and mandrel bending machines!
"I’m not going to go into great length on what Company C’s list looked like because, well, it’s boring! Trust me when I tell you it was the same — somewhat typical, but still loaded with machines that have nothing to do with sheet metal, like ironworkers and grinders!"
What Kind of Sheet Metal Bender Machine Can I Get from Bud's Machine Tools?
It would be good to point that out, wouldn’t it? As demonstrated above, people will (and often do) include just about any machine in the fabrication industry. (We're surprised no one listed band saws! About the last thing you want to do to a poor ol' piece of sheet metal is show it to a band saw.)
Bud's Machine Tools markets folding machines, all sizes, all types. A full line of both cheek and cleat benders, from bench sizes up to 4-foot machines and beyond. (We also carry other benders, such as angle iron benders and bar folders.) But here’s the thing: if we do not have the machine you are looking for when you call we will simply locate for you exactly what you want.
