Fadal VMC-6030B-IIVertical Machining CenterAxis Travels: 60" x 32" x 30"With this model we are getting into the meat of Fadal’s new line-up of Vertical Machining Centers, dubbed the Series-II.The VMC-6030B-II is a sterling example of an advanced CNC mill with a great machine-to-cost ratio. What do we mean by “machine-to-cost ratio?” Quite simply stated, the machine is loaded with features and capabilities that far outreach its cost. This is one of those golden times when you actually do get more than you paid for.

• specifications are subject to changeFadal’s VMC-6030B-II Series vertical machining center was designed and built for large parts and heavy metal removal. The machine is designed to deliver high material removal rates in every type of material from low carbon steels to tool steels and beyond. This is achieved with a plentiful amount of strategically placed cast iron for an unsurprisingly strong base. The benefit of all this machine base technology is reduced piece part cycle times, while holding increased positioning accuracy and repeatability. This machine weighs in excess of 32,000 lbs. — that's 16 tons — and its heavy four box ways design results in maximum vibration damping. The box ways are hardened, ground and utilize non-metallic liners that are virtually friction-free on all ways and gibs surfaces, to ensure vibration-free cutting for consistently closer tolerances, better finishes and longer tool life. Will This Machine Be Ready to Cut When I Receive It?Take big-time travel in all directions followed up by a larger than typical working table and you have a decent opening salvo on the VMC-6030B-II’s considerable capabilities. Max table weight is just short of a fully laden Humvee. Table travel tolerance is .0002, while table positioning is accomplished via 2- inch ball screws. Spindle taper is Cat/Bt-40 with a top speed of 10,000 r.p.m.’s, spindle creates 225 foot pounds of torque in either speed range, and comes with its own chiller as standard equipment. And we’re just getting warmed up folks, the VMC-6030B-II comes with a 24 tool capacity tool holder, which is typically a 20% greater number of tool holders than many competitors. If that number of tool holders does not get the job done for you, the tool holder can be expanded to either a 30-position tool holder or a 40-position tool holder as optional equipment. For all you tech folks, don’t worry, Fadal did not leave you guys and gals out in the cold. Along with the spec Series-II machines comes the Fadal 64 MP CNC controller — suffice it to say, plenty of power plus advanced operations, and input is easily done even by less-experienced machine operators.Okay, Let’s Say I Like the Fadal, Where Do I Get One?Well Buds Machine Tools is your factory-authorized dealer for most of the northern part of the Mountain Time Zone (specifically Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and Utah). Our aim, with the strong partnership we have established with Fadal, is to take the new Series-II machines everywhere we call in those states. Since Jorgenson has been in business for 50 years, that’s a lot of places. There is something else you learn from being in business for that long, namely, how to tell a high value machine line when we see one. Moving together into the future as an unbeatable combination goes Fadal and Jorgenson. And that's why they say, "Buds Machine Tools — Strong on Service."
